Chicago St Patricks’ Day Parade 2012 – Rivers of Green!

The Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade is held every year on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day, unless the Irish holiday actually falls on a Saturday. The Chicago River is dyed green at 10:45 am, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Chicago kicks off at noon. Thousands of people attend the event each year, so make sure to arrive early to get a good spot.

New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2012

The New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the USA’s oldest and proudest Irish tradition, marching for the first time 250 years ago, on March 17, 1762 – fourteen years before the Declaration of Independence.

The Parade, held on March 17th, starts at 44th Street at 11:00 am and marches up Fifth Avenue past St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 50th Street all the way up past the American Irish Historical Society at 83rd and the Metropolitan Museum of Art at 83rd Street to 86th Street, where the parade finishes at around 4:30 – 5:00 pm.

London St Patrick’s Day Parades 2012

Party like the Irish, in London! Celebrating all things Irish, with laughter, fun and, of course, Guinness!

This year’s annual St Patrick’s Day parade will be on Sunday 18 March. London’s St Patrick’s Day Parade involves marching bands, floats, street theatre and more. All 32 Irish counties are represented, dressed in their traditional county colours. Other parade participants include members of London’s Irish community and all other Londoners.

The parade begins at Green Park at 12pm and will proceed through central London to Trafalgar Square with the event finishing at 6pm.

As well as the parade, you’ll be treated to the best of Irish music, dance and culture in Trafalgar Square.The festival offers free entertainment all day including ceili dancing, traditional Irish music, celebrity MCs, and Irish speakers ready to teach you a few Irish phrases.
