This month at WineWeaver, we received a lovely letter of thanks for WineWeaver’s help in supporting the recent Moorbenhall Spring Charity Ball.
We have shared this letter with you below as the amazing news is that the event helped to raise £20,000 for charity!
Great work everyone!
May, 2013
Dear WineWeaver,
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for your very kind offer of support at the Moorbennhall Charity Ball.
With Barclays Bank price match of £3,000, we have made £20,000 for the charities.
All of the proceeds from the evening will be divided equally between Grace House Children’s Hospice and The Gem Appeal.
With your help, Grace House will provide a range of professional support including practical help, nursing care and bereavement support to life-limited children and their families 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Children for which there is no reasonable hope of cure and will inevitably die.
The North East has the lowest number of hospice beds for children in the whole of the UK.
“There is approximately 1,000 families in our region coping with the devastating news that their child will not live to be an adult.”
The future of treatment of Genetic and Metabolic disorders depends on the research being carried out now and is vital for the future treatment and cure of these life-threatening disorders, which so cruelly devastate so many lives.
Government funding does not have the means to supply the money for research and equipment however controversial we believe that to be!
So hence charities, such as the GEM Appeal need to exist to enable scientists and doctors to do their skilled work and create treatments to end these terrible diseases.
Thank you so Much!!!
