Whilst many will be eagerly following the racing in San Francisco for progress on the challenger to the America’s Cup this year, it’s not just the States that plays host to such a large sailing event at this time of year.
In the UK, this first week of August (03-10August) sees the start of Cowes Week – a wonderful annual sailing regatta and highlight of the British Sporting Summer.
Cowes Week takes place each year on the Solent in the small town of Cowes, Isles of Wight and is one of the UK’s longest running and most successful sporting events having started way back in 1826 – even longer ago than the 162 year old America’s Cup competition!
Cowes is notorious for having a fun and vibrant festival atmosphere with spectators in their hundreds of thousands flocking to see the racing event over the course of the week.
With the sun thankfully scheduled to make an appearance over this week, Cowes Week will be the ideal place for enjoying the perfect picnic. Fun in the sun with friends and family makes for some wonderful summer time memories and spectating at Cowes Week will certainly be enviable to anyone left behind in the City.
But what to pack for your perfect picnic wine tipple?
Perfect picnic wines might be anything from a South African Chenin, a scrumptious Chilean Cabernet or an awesome Australian Merlot. Not forgetting to pack the ultimate wine accessory, and something that truly makes the occasion more memorable – the WineWeaver wine aerator. As we say as WineWeaver, enjoying a glass al fresco does not mean that it shouldn’t be enjoyed in tip top condition!
In addition, WineWeaver isn’t only suited to shore-side picnics, having been highly recommended by top seafarers The Croatian Flyer as the perfect at-sea wine aerator with Mr Baldwin, captain of the Flyer declaring “bring life and lift to your wine direct from the bottle with the wonderful WineWeaver!”
To make carrying a wine aerator to out-of-doors events easier, WineWeaver also has a Travel Tote available which is the perfect spectator carry-case.
