Kentucky Oaks 2012: Friday May 4, 2012Wine Aeration - Bottles of Rose, Rosada, Rosata and Blush wine!

Throughout its 137-year history, the Kentucky Oaks has collected its own traditions, and like its companion event, the Kentucky Derby known as America’s Race™, features a namesake race, boasts a special flower, offers an official cocktail and — as of 2009 — has official charity partners that make the Oaks not only a great sports and entertainment experience but also a party with a purpose.

The Oaks has also adopted a signature color – PINK! So, get your PINK ensembles and rose wine ready for the Kentucky Oaks Day PINK OUT!

The official color of the Kentucky Oaks is PINK in honor of the Oaks official flower, the stargazer lily. In support of Kentucky Oaks Day, Churchill Downs is asking you to THINK PINK when it comes to your attire for Kentucky Oaks 138! Participate in our fourth Kentucky Oaks PINK OUT on Friday, May 4, by incorporating PINK into your attire for the day at the races. Churchill Downs staged its first Oaks PINK OUT in 2009 with impressive results.  From hats to handkerchiefs, suits to sundresses, sunglasses to stilettos, our Oaks guests were “tickled pink” to show their support for the Oaks and the important cause it supports.

If you can’t make it to the Kentucky Derby this year then you might like to gather together with friends and family to celebrate the race in style. Try throwing the ultimate party, BBQ or picnic and run a sweepstake …

Grab some food and wine in (rose of course!) – along with your trusty WineWeaver aerator – and consider hosting the perfect Kentucky Derby Party at home.
