05Feb13 – Today sees the greatest of the UK’s bar industry get together for Imbibe Magazine’s ‘Personality of the Year 2013′ Awards in London, in which our very own Sommelier – Christopher Delalonde – has been fortunate to be shortlisted for the Restaurant Personality of the Year!
In what is largely becoming regarded the ‘who’s who of the good and the great of the hospitality world’, Imbibe’s Personality of the Year is being held for the third year running.
The first round of votes for industry nominees were cast earlier this year by Imbibe’s readership – receiving an amazing response with thousands of online nominations being submitted, that ‘demonstrates the passion and talent that is out there in the world of the drink-savvy professional’!
All these votes were then counted and verified to produce this year’s Imbibe Personality of the Year 2013 shortlist!
In the Restaurant Personality of the Year, Christopher Delalonde of The Boundary has been pitted against fellow Master Sommeliers Matthieu Longuere of La Trompette and Xavier Rousset of Texture and 28°-50° Resturants in London amongst others.
Today, the shortlist of nominees will come under scrutiny in the final round as the judging panel casts their votes to decide the winner for each category. With the assembled panel being represented by judges in the top tier of their respective professions, the shortlisted nominees will be eagerly anticipating the anointed winners later today to see who has made the cut for 2013.
Categories for awards include Hotel, Bar, Pub and Restaurant Personality of the Year, plus the cross-category awards for the Innovator, Educator, Industry Legend and Hot Stuff recipients.
Everyone at WineWeaver would like to wish Christopher and all the nominees the best of luck, whilst the judging panel makes their final decisions.
We’ll keep our fingers-crossed for you!
